A Workshop with Thomas Crum

and Ali Crum

Saturday, May 23

9 am - 4 pm

The Gant Conference Room

Aspen, CO

FACT A: Being a Mom or Dad is a stressful, demanding, and challenging life-long job.

FACT B: Being a Mom or Dad is a meaningful, fulfilling and joyful purpose to life.

CHALLENGE: How do you get from A to B?

How do I live my life as a mom or dad in a graceful, centered, magical way, rising to the demands, enjoying the challenges, and igniting the magic in my own child?

The MAGIC is to recognize parenthood as a lifelong opportunity, an environment in which you, with awareness, can learn to:

• Be calm, centered and present in any situation

• Understand and build true power and deep connection

• Turn stress into vitality

• Use conflict as an opportunity to strengthen and build trust and to resolve issues

• Transform difficult conversations into loving relationships

• Embody the real 3 R’s: Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness

• Cultivate the presence and joy inherent in being a parent

"Tom is one of the most calming, creative and generous souls you will meet.
Tom's inspiring presentation at The Momference left all of our participants with wonderful insights on staying centered, happy and more at peace, in the midst of all of the stress and challenges that Mom's face."
- Mike Jaffe, Founder of the Momference, Annual Symposium for Moms.

About Thomas Crum

Thomas Crum is a global presenter in the fields of conflict resolution, peak performance, and stress management, and his approach teaches us how to “turn a life of work into a work of art.” Two of his books are bestsellers (The Magic of Conflict and Journey to Center, published by Simon and Schuster) and his most recent book, Three Deep Breaths, has just been released in paperback.  Tom is known worldwide for his presentations to corporations, government organizations and non-profit organizations, but his goal to enhance consciousness and centered awareness is most deeply connected to those who touch the lives of our children.  Tom has a degree in mathematics and education, and was a teacher and interim director of the Aspen Community School in the 70s, and co-founder (with John Denver) and director of The Windstar Foundation in the 80s. His Magic of Skiing program has been part of the Aspen Skiing Company for 25 years. Tom is married to Cathy Crum, the creater of the Aspen Elementary School musical theatre program. They have three children and three grandchildren.

About Ali Crum

Alia J. Crum is a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Yale University. An integrationist at heart, Alia uses an inter-disciplinary approach in her research and application of the mind-body connection to optimal health, well-being and performance. Alia received a BA degree from Harvard University, graduating with highest departmental honors in psychology. Her research on the mind-body connection between exercise and health (published in Psychological Science, 2007) was awarded a Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize, the William Harris Prize, and notoriety in several popular media including the LA times and the Wall Street Journal. In the interim between Harvard and Yale, Ali served as a teaching fellow for the Psychology of Leadership course taught to Harvard undergraduates. In addition to her research and clinical work at Yale, she works at the Yale School of Management co-designing a course on interpersonal effectiveness, a new class required for all MBA students.
